TIOHTIÀ:KE LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

The Conseil québécois du théâtre (CQT) acknowledges and thanks the first stewards of these lands  – the Indigenous people who have been here for millennia. Everyone who visits this website is asked to reflect on the lands in which they live and work, on the life and history of the Indigenous peoples around us, and on the work that still has to be done to repair our relationships with First Nations. We all need to work together toward a fair future.

As an organization based on the territory of Tiohtià:ke, Montreal, the Conseil québécois du théâtre acknowledges that we are on the unceded traditional land of the Kanien’kehá:ka “Mohawk” and Anishinabek “Algonquin” peoples. Tiohtià:ke has been recognized as a gathering place for many different First Nations. We acknowledge and deeply value the ongoing connection between the Indigenous peoples and these lands and waters, as well as their presence on them.
